In 2014, the team of Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture and Hummel Architects was hired by the Treasure Valley Family YMCA of Boise Idaho to master plan, program and design the Meridian Family YMCA in a phased design approach for their new facility. A collaborative effort between multiple partners including the Y, Hillsdale Elementary School, Meridian Library District, and St. Luke's, a wellness partner.

Once complete, the campus will include a new elementary school for the West Ada School District; a multi-story library; a health and wellness center; and the YMCA. The YMCA at full build out will include a two gymnasiums, one for the school and another 3 basketball court gym for the Y; an extensive active indoor aquatic fun center with an outdoor spray playground; an eight lane lap and diving pool; large multi-level indoor playground with multi-story slides; multiple running tracks including a level track, a hill course track and a track utilizing the stairs; multiple fitness activity classrooms; cardio, circuit and weight training and fitness equipment areas; a kid zone with multiple youth program opportunities; classrooms; a teaching kitchen; administration; and support spaces.
BRS designed phase two in collaboration with Hummel Architects. Phase two included the gymnasium, fitness spaces and a wellness wing.
