The first project that expanded program offerings in Bicentennial Park included a new clubhouse and covered courts. The Southlake Tennis Center set the precedent for the two-phased Marq facility.

Center Court
The facilities included a clubhouse facility that could no longer meet the requirements of the center along with 19 outdoor courts. The center hosts a number of tournament events, leagues, camps, and group programs and lessons throughout the year. It was recognized that better service could be provided with an improved clubhouse facility as well as covered courts so tennis programming could continue to be offered during the hot summer months.
The improvements to the center consist of a new 6,200 sf clubhouse that includes a variety of lounges and gathering spaces, a community meeting room, expanded club locker facilities, staff areas, and a large pro shop to support the players who use the center. Off the back of the clubhouse is a large covered patio with views to an enhanced center court with a variety of seating, amenities, terraces, and stone site walls.

Also included with the project is a new covered court structure constructed over two existing courts on a tight project site. The structure is built using an insulated fabric skin system on aluminum supports and includes new building systems to provide safety and comfort. The courts are refinished and offer a high level of play to the users of the facility.
