Michaela Liebel
Designer
Equal Parts Builder, Maker and Dreamer
Michaela grew up in Butte, Montana, where historic buildings and gritty mining-town character sparked an early fascination with architecture. Before architecture school, she spent two years building Habitat for Humanity homes while earning a degree in Carpentry Construction Technology. Safe to say, she likes knowing how things actually go together. After years in residential design, Michaela joined BRS with a love for spaces that shape how people feel and interact. When she’s not designing, she’s usually making something, cooking around food allergies like it’s a competitive sport, or hanging with her husband James and daughter Kiki. Her life goal? Visit every U.S. state and someday build her own home from the ground up.

If I won the Lottery...
...nothing would really change in my life except that I’d own land and would be building a house on it.
Favorite Food
I have allergies to a lot of things that makes it hard to enjoy food made without extreme caution. Instead of being limited by these allergies I have been relearning how to make all of the food I used to love without all of the things I can’t eat anymore.
Favorite Place
My favorite place is anywhere I’m with my family.
