Hype Beast

I grew up in Wisconsin where I learned that cow tipping is an urban myth and cheese is the food of the Gods. I went to the University of Wisconsin-Stout for my undergrad in graphic design. I worked in a small design firm in Madison, Wis. Then worked in Communications at my old summer camp, Phantom Lake YMCA Camp, where I went as a kid and worked as a teenager.

I went to grad school for improv (only they don’t give you any actual college credit or financial aid). I moved to Chicago to follow my dream of learning and performing improv. I went on to perform and teach all over the greater Chicago area and toured to festivals all over the country. As I was pursuing acting, I was a freelance graphic designer and created posters for various comedy shows. This led me to a dream job at the Second City, a famed comedy theater in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago. I worked in the creative services department for three years. I wrote, directed, and acted in several shows and films including Woes of a Small Stove.

In an effort to “change it up”, I moved to Denver in 2018 to be closer to my brother Andy and his family. I wanted to be so close to him that I got a job at the place he works.
