Casper Family YMCA

Casper, Wyoming

The YMCA in Casper was thriving in a very dated facility. They wanted an updated facility that allows construction of the new building while keeping the existing building in operation until the new one is complete. MOA Architecture, as Architect of Record teamed with Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture serving as Associate Design Architect, leading the design of the interiors.

The first phase of the new building was built south of the existing operation and is independent of it. The new building contains a large field house/gym space, wellness center with weights and cardio equipment, a group fitness room, drop in child watch area, member lounge, staff space and locker rooms.

During Phase Two, the existing facility will be demolished except for the gymnasium and a new link will be made to connect the gym with the new center. The 2nd phase will also include a new pool, day care center, fun zone, teen room, outdoor skate park, and a racquetball court.
