Waunakee Village Center

Feasibility Study + Design

The Village of Waunakee struggled for some time with an overcrowded senior center and a new and growing recreation department that lacked indoor programming space and a place for community gatherings. The design for a new community/senior center evolved during the fall of 2003 through an extensive BRS-facilitated public process. In spring 2004, voters approved funding for the center.

Located on a reclaimed factory site near schools, parks and public transportation, the 45,600-s.f. center includes a multi-use gymnasium with an elevated walking track, exercise program and fitness spaces, community meeting rooms, classrooms, senior dining hall and lounge with a café, full-service kitchen and administrative office space.
