South Suburban Golf Course Clubhouse Renovation

Feasibility Study + Design

After many years of service, the original South Suburban Golf clubhouse was in need of a significant facelift. BRS was brought on to provide a new image for the worn-out facility. The work encompassed major remodeling of the existing clubhouse and two small additions to accommodate reorganizing space for specific functions. The interior program was reversed, moving the pro shop to the front and the dining room and bar to the rear. This fundamental change allows enhanced views from the restaurant and outdoor deck to the golf course, and puts the pro shop staff in a better position to monitor the starter position.

The building’s new layout also allows for a more intuitive user experience through the building and allows the dining and bar area to be closed off from the pro shop for extended hours of operation. A south facing patio located off the dining room creates space for open air concerts and dining, and a new cart barn provides golf cart storage and will accommodate the future switch over to electrical golf carts. Outside of the clubhouse, landscaping improvements are being made to facilitate access and movement through the course and grounds for golfers and guests.
