Feasibility Study + Design
The team of Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture; MIG, Landscape Architects; Semple Brown, Theater Specialists; Martin Martin, Civil Engineers and Ballard*King & Associates, Facility Operations Planners worked with the City of Northglenn's Advisory Committee and Parks & Recreation Staff to complete a feasibility study assessment of the Community’s desire for recreation center amenities, business planning, facility programming and conceptual design for a new multi-use facility for the City. The process included two open houses, an online survey collection, public outreach and focus group interviews to get a broad and comprehensive review of the needs and desires of the entire community.
The proposed new facility includes aquatics, gymnasium, jog/walk track, weights & fitness, community gathering spaces, senior components, a 320-seat theatre, licensed child care/pre-school, along with administrative supports areas. Proposed facility size is 85,719-s.f.
The building design has been conceptualized as a ‘new boulevard’ approach, creating a modern, engaging aesthetic while keeping the small town feel that the Committee so strongly expressed as important.
