Maroon Bells Bus Shelter & Visitor Contact Area

Maroon Bells is one of the most highly trafficked spots in the Aspen area. World renowned for its pristine beauty, the region stands to be in danger of being loved too much.

In an attempt to mitigate ecological and environmental damage and educate visitors, a new visitor contact area was designed. A bus shelter for tour buses and public transportation was also designed to mediate the impact of vehicular traffic.

The new visitor contact area provides a ranger station, interpretive displays, trail maps and weather information. The new facilities are incorporated into the existing restrooms, parking lot, outdoor display and open-air amphitheater.
