Hillsboro Park Maintenance Facility

The city of Hillsboro, Oregon, a young, thriving community on the western edge of the Portland growth boundary, is home to a number of high-tech firms. In 2005, an industrial building and several large parcels of land became available for sale, and Hillsboro hired Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture and Moore Iacofano Goltsman, Inc. to assess the properties for development into a future park, recreation center and parks maintenance facility.

BRS initially assessed the existing structure to determine its suitability prior to purchase. Subsequently, the firm worked with parks and recreation staff to develop the master plan for a large community recreation center as well as design of the parks maintenance facility. The maintenance facility includes staff offices, locker rooms, break rooms, three vehicle maintenance bays, covered storage and a vehicle wash facility, along with parking for 60 vehicles.
