Fraser Valley Recreation Center

Feasibility Study

A comprehensive feasibility study and site selection for a new community recreation center for the citizens of the mountain communities in the Fraser Valley was conducted to prepare for a bond election to fund the project. The goal of the new center was to enhance the quality of life for the Fraser Valley residents by providing high-quality recreational and community programs for all ages and abilities. An extensive public process was conducted to assure maximum public input during the site selection and concept design phases. Workshops and public meetings were held to give citizens the opportunity to provide feedback and opinions as well as gain ownership in the project.

Our design for the 65,500-s.f. facility would include an aquatics area with a six-lane lap-swimming pool and leisure pool with waterslide and lazy river, gymnasium, fitness/aerobics studio, weight room, climbing wall, community spaces for parties and arts and crafts, a multipurpose meeting room and a babysitting area.
