Feasibility Study + Design
The City of Blue Springs commissioned the team of SFS Architecture and Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture, to retrofit the former “Sports City”, a once privately operated indoor facility at 425 N.E. Mock Ave. in Blue Springs, to accommodate the City’s parks and recreation programs. The original facility contained more than 76,000 square feet of recreational space, including two soccer fields, one basketball court, a mini-golf course and batting cages.
The renovated facility now offers party rooms, new locker/shower rooms, an indoor turf area, gymnasium space with four regulation courts, fitness center and studio space for aerobics, dance and yoga classes, and the City Parks and Recreation Administrative offices.
