Apex Field House

Over a 15-year period, the Apex Park and Recreation District has entrusted BRS with multiple complex projects, including design of their 160,000-s.f. flagship facility, the Apex Center. In 2010, the recreation district again turned to BRS to design a new fieldhouse that will be the centerpiece of the Lutz Sport Complex.

The new 57,000-s.f. Apex Field House, with an estimated budget of $6.3 million, will be the premier indoor turf facility for the Intermountain Region, containing two state-of-the-art indoor turf fields, team rooms, community rooms, administrative offices and support spaces. The entire building design underwent intensive energy modeling to establish and optimize “payback” of building systems and anticipated ongoing building energy operation costs through careful analysis of the building envelope, smart use of daylighting, and savvy mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems design.
