The goal of the Excelsior Springs Community Center and Recreation Complex is to develop a facility that will bring families together, provide youth with a variety of choices to encourage them to stay in town, give seniors a place to go, and build unity and pride in the community. BRS and SFS conducted a feasibility study that included a business plan which resulted in a design for a community center that is affordable to develop, operate and maintain and that offers programming for users of all ages and abilities. Based on a survey of citizens, the center will include a leisure pool, indoor waterslide, weights and fitness area, walk/jog track, community rooms, senior center, gymnasium, lap pool, child watch area, and racquetball court. A public forum of citizens confirmed the priorities while having fun playing our interactive Card Game. BRS was the plan advisor, recreation components advisor and lead on the construction documents.
