Two BRS Projects Earn Awards in Fall 2015

Both the Cheyenne Aquatic Center and The REC of Grapevine recently won awards.
ENR Mountain States chose the Cheyenne Aquatic Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming as one of the 2015 Best Projects. Award of Merit: Small Project (Under $10 Million)
The Cheyenne Aquatic Center Renovation and Expansion was completed in May 2015. The renovation consisted of a complete scrap and re-build for all portions of the existing building leaving only the lap pool untouched. The expansion included a new leisure pool with zero depth entry, water play structure, lazy river, three warm water lap lanes and two new water slides with attached run-outs.
At the recent Texas Recreation and Park Society’s North Region conference in Ft. Worth, The REC of Grapevine received the Recreation Facility Design Excellence Award.
The REC of Grapevine is a distinct mix of indoor aquatics, fitness, community and 55 & Better all under one roof. The REC’s 16,000-s.f. natatorium offers aquatics fun for everyone in the community and includes two 22-ft high, 170-ft. long water slides which are expressed on the exterior of the building. A zero depth entry kids zone, climbing area, lazy river and lap lanes for exercise and aquatic fitness round out the offerings in the aquatics area. The fitness center overlooks the aquatics and is 8,500-s.f. boasting new, state-of-the-art equipment, three group exercise rooms, private fitness assessment and a 1/9 mile elevated walk/jog track.
