History
Don. Ron. Russ.
Founded in 1975 by Donald Barker, Ronald Rinker and Russell Seacat, our firm has grown into a richly integrated design practice with projects throughout the United States and Europe. Born out of the movement of the sixties to be socially conscious, BRS focused on civic architecture from the beginning to give back to the community. In addition, the founders nurtured an exceptional firm culture to support our employees, clients and their projects alike.
Roz.
Perhaps one of the greatest stories representing our firm’s culture is that of Roz Schneider who became a partner in 1979. Roz is the first woman, non-architect and first Asian American woman to become a partner in an architecture firm in the state of Colorado. Roz was a part of it from the beginning and retired in 2010. Read her story here.
Our purpose: To create places that improve community well-being.
Our mission: Everyday, we seek experiences built with collaboration, ingenuity, individual pluck and our collective spirit.
Culture
BRS is a people centered firm that believes in a set of inclusive values and collective impact.
A balance of laughter and serious concentration keeps our work playful and creative yet meticulous, just like the buildings we design.
DIVERSITY, INCLUSION & BELONGING
Collective Spirit
It is part of our mission to collaborate with “collective spirit” – That is a spirit of togetherness and inclusiveness. We value diversity and celebrate it. Through awareness and equity practices we will continue to bring people together. Belonging is a feeling that comes from the shared sentiments of the workforce that is reinforced by our culture.
Voted a "Best Firm to Work For" by Zweig Group
BRS is a collaborative and unique community of thinkers, creators and communicators.
We endeavor to provide a casual, nurturing environment with enough structure and organization to foster creativity, professionalism and profitability. We believe that there is room to grow and learn and we make space for that by mentoring talent. We expect that in joining our staff you will become an important, self-motivated addition to our firm. Your participation and contribution, not only in the making of architecture, but in the culture of BRS, is extremely important to our success.
